ACAP, a nonprofit committed to helping people/changing lives, has been selected as a beneficiary of the Hannaford Cause Bag program for the month of August.

ACAP Food Shelf was selected by Hannaford store leadership as the August beneficiary of the program at the Lake Placid Hannaford store. For every reusable Fight Hunger bag with the message “This bag has helped feed someone in need” purchased at the Lake Placid Hannaford during August, ACAP Food Shelves will receive a $.25 donation.

“This couldn’t come at a better time,” said ACAP Executive Director, Alan Jones. “With school out for the summer, children often go without enough to eat.”

Any funds raised during August will help purchase food for families. Families who visit ACAP Food Shelf receive enough food to feed the family for a minimum of three days. The money raised during August, will help meet the need during the summer months and allow us to focus on including items for children. The food will be a major help for children and families in our community.

ACAP is a nonprofit based in Essex County. Founded in 1965, ACAP connects people, values and resources to promote personal, economic and community growth. Learn more about ACAP by visiting acapinc.org.
